By booking a tutoring session with Cicada Tutoring (“Tutor,” “we,” or “us”) through TutorBird or any linked payment platform, you (“Client”) agree to the following Terms of Service. If the tutoring services are for a student under 13 years old, “Client” also refers to the parent or legal guardian providing consent on behalf of the child.

1. Eligibility & Consent

• Tutoring services for children under 13 require the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian.

• The parent or guardian is responsible for ensuring a safe and appropriate learning environment during online or in-person sessions.

• Adult learners may book sessions directly for themselves and agree to these terms personally.
  
  
  

2. Services

• Cicada Tutoring provides personalized academic support, including instruction, practice activities, and progress feedback.

• Sessions may be conducted online or in person, as indicated at the time of booking.
  
  
  

3. Scheduling & Payment

• Initial Booking: First-time clients may book and pay for an introductory session directly through the Cicada Tutoring website using Stripe.

• Ongoing Sessions: After the initial appointment, all scheduling and payments occur through the TutorBird client portal.

• Clients may choose to (a) pay at the time of scheduling, or (b) be billed monthly by invoice.

• Monthly billing occurs at the end of each calendar month. Payment is due upon receipt unless otherwise noted on the invoice.

• Payment confirms your appointment and agreement to these Terms of Service.

• All payments are non-refundable. Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice.

• Cicada Tutoring reserves the right to reschedule or cancel sessions as necessary, with notice provided whenever possible.
  
  
  

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

• You must notify Cicada Tutoring at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time to  reschedule.

• Sessions missed without prior notice will be considered completed and non-refundable.
  
  
  

5. Privacy & Confidentiality

• All student and family information is kept confidential and will not be shared without consent, except as required by law.

• Tutors may record sessions for quality assurance or training purposes. Recordings will remain private unless otherwise agreed.

6. Communication

• Cicada Tutoring communicates through email, phone, Zoom, or secure online platforms.

• Clients must provide accurate contact information and respond to communications in a timely manner.
  
  
  

7. Safety & Conduct

• Parents or guardians must ensure a safe, supervised environment for students under 13 during sessions.

• All participants are expected to behave respectfully toward the tutor and learning materials.

• Cicada Tutoring reserves the right to terminate any session immediately if behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate.
  
  
  

8. Limitation of Liability

• Cicada Tutoring is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from participation in tutoring sessions.

• While we are committed to supporting each student’s progress, specific academic outcomes are not guaranteed.

9. Acknowledgment & Acceptance

By completing the booking and payment process, you acknowledge that you:

1. Have read and understood these Terms of Service.

2. Are either an adult client or the parent/legal guardian of the child receiving tutoring services.

3. Consent to tutoring under these terms and agree to abide by all scheduling, payment, and conduct policies.
