By booking a tutoring session with Cicada Tutoring (“Tutor,” “we,” or “us”) through TutorBird or any linked payment platform, you (“Client”) agree to the following terms.

If the student receiving services is under 18, “Client” also includes the parent or legal guardian providing consent on behalf of the student.

1. Consent & Eligibility

• Tutoring services for children under 13 require the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian.

• For students aged 13–17, a parent or guardian must approve participation and payment.

• Adults aged 18 or older may enroll and agree to these terms directly.

• By booking, the Client confirms they are authorized to provide consent for tutoring services as applicable.
  
  
  

2. Services Provided

• Cicada Tutoring offers personalized academic instruction, practice activities, and progress feedback tailored to each learner’s needs.

• Sessions take place online, as indicated at booking.

• Instruction may include materials and methods drawn from the Waldorf curriculum or other educational frameworks.

• While the Tutor supports academic growth and confidence, specific results or outcomes are not guaranteed.
  
  
  

3. Scheduling & Payment

• All sessions are scheduled through TutorBird and paid via Stripe at the time of booking.

• Payment confirms both the appointment and acceptance of this Agreement and the Cicada Tutoring Terms of Service.

• Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice.

• Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time are non-refundable.

• Cicada Tutoring may reschedule sessions with reasonable notice if necessary.
  
  
  

4. Attendance, Homework & Practice

• Clients (or parents/guardians, if applicable) agree to ensure consistent attendance and punctuality.

• The Tutor may assign homework or practice tasks to reinforce learning between sessions.

• Parents/guardians agree to support younger learners in completing assigned work as appropriate.
  
  
  

5. Safety & Conduct

• For online sessions, a parent or guardian must be present in the home for children under 13 and available for supervision.

• All participants are expected to behave respectfully and cooperatively.

• Cicada Tutoring reserves the right to end a session immediately if behavior is unsafe, disrespectful, or disruptive.
  
  
  

6. Communication

• Cicada Tutoring will communicate regarding scheduling, progress, or concerns via email, phone, or secure online platforms.

• Clients (or parents/guardians) agree to maintain open communication and respond promptly when needed.
  
  
  

7. Privacy & Confidentiality

• All information about the student and family is confidential and will not be shared without consent, except where required by law.

• Session notes and progress records may be maintained to support consistent instruction.

• Tutors may record sessions for training or quality assurance, but recordings will remain private unless otherwise agreed.
  
  
  

8. Media & Photo Consent (Optional)

• Cicada Tutoring may occasionally request permission to use photos, screenshots, or video clips for educational or promotional purposes.

• Granting media consent is optional. Clients who do not wish to participate may decline in writing at any time.

• Media will never include a student’s full name, contact details, face, or identifying personal information.
  
  
  

9. Limitation of Liability

• Cicada Tutoring is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in tutoring services.

• All services are educational in nature and offered in good faith to promote learning and skill development.
  
  
  

10. Acknowledgment

By booking and paying for tutoring services, you acknowledge that you:

1. Have read and understood this Client Agreement and the Cicada Tutoring Terms of Service.

2. Are either an adult client or the parent/legal guardian of the student receiving services.

3. Consent to tutoring under these terms and agree to all scheduling, payment, and conduct policies.
