Miss Allysun

With over seventeen years of experience in accredited Waldorf schools, I bring a deep understanding of child development, a mastery of the Waldorf curriculum, and a steady, caring presence to every tutoring session. My approach combines academic precision with warmth and artistry, helping students build confidence, competence, and connection to learning.

I hold a Master’s in Waldorf Education with a Transdisciplinary Focus on Healing Education from Antioch University New England, emphasizing collaborative, research-based approaches to inclusive education, and a Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies from Mills College, with an emphasis in Physics and a minor in Music.

My teaching has spanned the full spectrum of academic subjects for grades 1-8, with a particular love for math, music, and painting. Alongside classroom teaching, I have led faculty retreats, parent workshops, and outdoor education programs, directed class plays, and mentored student teachers. I’ve also worked in teacher education, designing and leading courses at Rudolf Steiner College and through the Center for Anthroposophy’s Building Bridges program, while participating in more than fifteen years of professional development in the U.S. and at the Goetheanum in Switzerland. My commitment to accessible, human-centered education has also led to appearances in The New York Times, BBC, and NBC Nightly News as a spokesperson for Waldorf education.

I am experienced in supporting students with diverse learning needs, including dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and other learning differences. Tutoring sessions are individualized and structured to build skills in math, writing, and study habits, with close collaboration between parents, teachers, and students to ensure continuity and progress.

Each calm, focused session blends Waldorf pedagogy with research-informed strategies, offering clear instruction, visual modeling, and active student participation. I look forward to partnering with you to help your child grow as a thinker, problem-solver, and lifelong learner.

Miss Sharon

With more than thirty-five years of experience as an educator, I have dedicated my career to nurturing the whole child. Building trusting relationships with students so they feel safe, valued, and capable has always been at the heart of my teaching. I believe children learn best when they are encouraged to recognize their strengths and develop confidence alongside academic skills.

After discovering Waldorf education through my own children, I joined the faculty at Sacramento Waldorf School, where years of classroom teaching, ongoing study, coursework at Rudolf Steiner College, and active participation in school life deepened my understanding of Waldorf pedagogy. I later served as the high school administrator, supporting both students and faculty while helping guide the life of the school community.

My experience extends across a wide range of educational settings. As an Education Specialist for a homeschooling charter school, I partnered with families to guide curriculum selection, lesson planning, and student assessment. While pursuing a master's degree in English as a Second Language (ESL), I taught English to both high school students and adults from many cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I also taught English Language Development and fifth-grade mathematics in a Title I elementary school, gaining valuable experience supporting diverse learners with varying academic needs. Earlier in my career, I earned my teaching credential in Social Studies from Minnesota State University before receiving my California Teaching Credential and taught in California public schools at both the high school and middle school levels.

Throughout my career, I have worked with students of all ages, abilities, and learning styles. One-on-one tutoring is especially meaningful to me because it allows instruction to be thoughtfully tailored to each student's unique strengths and challenges. My goal is to help students master new concepts, discover their own capabilities, and develop the confidence to become independent, joyful learners.
